Emily Levitt, BA
McMaster University

Emily Levitt completed her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology at McGill University, and is working toward her PhD at McMaster University in Research and Clinical Training. Her previous research, conducted at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, involved understanding the perceived barriers to accessing mental health and addiction services in adolescents. Currently, under the supervision of Dr. James MacKillop at the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research, Emily is working on optimizing screening assessment tools in the Addiction Medicine Services program at Homewood Health Centre to help identify populations at higher risk of treatment drop out. She is also validating a brief measure of social density of alcohol use in community adults, to further understand the relationship of an individual’s social network to their alcohol use. Emily previously worked at the Homewood Research Institute as Project Coordinator, and continues to collaborate with the HRI team to conduct clinical research.
