Herry is a PhD Candidate in the Neuroscience Graduate Program at McMaster University. Herry completed his undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour. Herry then completed his Master’s under the supervision of Dr. Michael Amlung at the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research at McMaster University. Herry’s Master’s Thesis research focused on studying Episodic Future Thinking and its effects on delay discounting and alcohol demand among individuals seeking treatment for addictive disorders. For his dissertation research, he is working with Dr. Margaret McKinnon at McMaster. He is investigating the intersection between simple vs. complex trauma, dissociation, and substance use. His current research includes studying the neural correlates of substance seeking following trauma triggers among a comorbid PTSD-SUD sample. He is also investigating trauma re-experiencing during acute withdrawal among individuals seeking treatment for addictive disorders.
