Isabella Romano, BSc

Isabella Romano is a PhD candidate in the School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo. She began working with HRI as a research assistant during her undergraduate degree, and was a practicum student under the supervision of Dr. Jean Costello. Currently, Isabella has been conducting an evaluation of Homewood Health Centre’s Tobacco-Free Policy and its impact on patients’ tobacco use and treatment outcomes. Isabella’s dissertation work investigates the longitudinal and bidirectional associations between cannabis use and mental health/well-being among youth enrolled in the COMPASS Study. Isabella is a member of the Canadian Evaluation Society and was a finalist in the 2019 Student Evaluation Case Competition.
